The Postpartum Recovery Package. Built for the Fourth Trimester
Core strength, hormone balancing, and getting your glow back. Explore a medically guided recovery plan for moms at About Face, featuring Emsculpt for natural diastasis recti and abdominal recovery.
The Postpartum Recovery Approach
Your body did something extraordinary, and you deserve to feel cared for & rejuvenated afterwards.
Pregnancy asks everything of your core, your skin, your hormones, your sleep. Recovery deserves the same level of attention delivery got. The Postpartum Recovery Protocol at About Face pairs Emsculpt, the leading non-invasive treatment for rebuilding core strength after diastasis recti, with the skin, hormone, and wellness support most new moms don’t know to ask for. Every plan starts with a conversation, a hormone panel, and a provider who has actually treated postpartum bodies before.
Nobody Tells You What “Fourth Trimester” Really Means for Your Body
Sleep debt. A midsection that doesn’t feel like yours, sagging skin or separation. Hormones in flux for months, sometimes years, after delivery. Hair loss, libido and skin changes, and difficulty feeling like “you” again. Postpartum changes are a new world, and you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Diastasis recti, the separation of your abdominal muscles during pregnancy, affects a large share of postpartum women, and it doesn’t resolve on its own for everyone. It can show up as a visible “pooch,” lower back pain, poor posture, or a core that feels disconnected and weak.
Emsculpt: Rebuilding the Core From the Inside Out
Emsculpt uses HIFEM® (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) energy to trigger thousands of supramaximal muscle contractions in a single session, far more than a voluntary crunch or plank can produce. For postpartum patients specifically, that matters because diastasis recti isn’t a fat problem. It’s a muscle-separation problem, and traditional ab exercises can sometimes make gapping worse before a core has been re-trained.
What Emsculpt is well suited to help with post-baby:
- Re-engaging the rectus abdominis and deeper core musculature after pregnancy stretched it
- Improving core tone and definition in a treatment area that is famously slow to respond to diet and exercise alone
- Supporting core stability that eases lower back strain from carrying, nursing, and chasing a toddler
- Complementing (not replacing) postpartum physical therapy and pelvic floor work
What we tell every patient honestly: Emsculpt strengthens and tones abdominal musculature. It is not a surgical repair of diastasis recti, and results vary by starting point, muscle separation severity, and consistency with the treatment series. For moderate-to-severe separation, we may recommend a physical therapy referral alongside your sessions, and we’ll always tell you if a plastic surgery consult (for cases involving true fascial rupture) is the more appropriate first step.
The typical series: 4 sessions over 2 weeks, 30 minutes each, no downtime. Something you can genuinely fit between naps and pediatrician visits. Most moms describe it as an intense ab workout they get to lie down for.
Options for the Postpartum Recovery Package

Core & Body
Emsculpt Series
A full course of Emsculpt sessions targeting the abdomen (with buttocks/thigh add-ons available), designed around your diastasis recti and your six-week postpartum clearance from your OB.

Swelling & Hydration
Lymphatic HydraFacial or Body Contouring Add-On
Postpartum skin, face and body, is dealing with hormone shifts, hydration loss, and in many cases lingering swelling. A Lymphatic HydraFacial supports drainage and de-puffing, which many new moms find especially helpful in the early weeks postpartum. Body contouring may also be added to provide lifting, smoothing, and tightening in any problem areas.

Skin Tightening & Texture
Morpheus8 or Secret RF
For moms managing loose skin, stretch marks, or texture changes from pregnancy, RF microneedling can be added once you’re cleared for treatment, to support collagen remodeling in the abdomen and other affected areas.

Hormone & Wellness Panel
Postpartum hormone shifts affect energy, mood, hair shedding, weight regulation, and libido, often for far longer than anyone warns you about. Come see us for a wellness panel to evaluate thyroid function, key sex hormones, and overall wellness markers, with a personalized plan that may include supplementation, peptides and weight loss support once you’re cleared (and finished breastfeeding, if applicable).

Hair Support
Postpartum hair shedding is real and hormonally driven. We offer hair restoration options & hormonal balancing for moms who want support once their provider confirms it’s the right time.

Provider Check-Ins
Because postpartum bodies change fast, your plan isn’t static. We reassess and adjust your package as you heal; this is not a one-size-fits-all bundle!
Care That Compounds, Especially in the Fourth Trimester
At About Face, every postpartum plan starts with a real conversation about your delivery, your goals, your timeline, and, just as importantly, your medical clearance. We are clinical but never cold: our team has treated hundreds of postpartum patients and knows the difference between a mom who’s ready for Emsculpt and one who needs a pelvic floor referral first.
We know how aesthetics and wellness combine.

Your Postpartum Recovery Journey
Step 1 — Consultation & Clearance Check
We talk through your delivery (vaginal or C-section), any diastasis recti or pelvic floor concerns, breastfeeding status, and your OB’s clearance timeline. Most treatments in this package are not started before 6-8 weeks postpartum, and some (like hormone therapy while breastfeeding) may need to wait longer.
Step 2 — Hormone & Wellness Panel
Lab work gives us a real baseline instead of guessing based on how tired you feel (though we believe you about that too).
Step 3 — Treatment Series
Your Emsculpt sessions, plus any add-ons, scheduled around your life, not the other way around.
Step 4 — Reassessment
We check progress, review labs, and adjust. Core strength typically continues improving over 2-4 weeks after your series, with full results after the complete course.

Frequently Asked Questions
Most providers recommend waiting until you have OB clearance, typically around 6-8 weeks postpartum for vaginal deliveries and longer for C-sections. We’ll confirm timing at your consultation.
Emsculpt strengthens and tones the abdominal muscles and can meaningfully improve core function and appearance, but it is not a surgical repair. For significant separation, we may recommend pairing it with pelvic floor physical therapy or referring you for a surgical consult if there’s true fascial rupture.
Emsculpt itself is generally compatible with breastfeeding since it doesn’t involve injections or systemic treatment. Hormone therapy and certain wellness treatments typically need to wait until breastfeeding ends. We’ll map this out with you individually.
Emsculpt produces contractions well beyond what’s voluntarily achievable, which is part of why it’s used specifically for post-separation muscle re-engagement, often before a patient can safely return to traditional core training.
We assess separation width and depth at consultation. More significant cases are often referred to pelvic floor physical therapy first, sometimes alongside Emsculpt, sometimes before it.
We recommend it. Postpartum thyroid and hormone shifts are common and frequently missed in standard six-week checkups, and they affect everything from energy to hair to weight regulation.

Highly recommend!Posted on Google ang thibeauTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Would be v helpful to get a full sized or at least trial/sample size of recovery product. I’ve had many things done in many spas and always got adequate recovery product for procedures. As part of the treatment. I do appreciate not being pushed to buy products but it was insulting to be handed a tiny button of product which did not cover my face/neck/chest once let alone the 5-6-7 days of recovery. For the large amount of money we pay its risky to not receive adequate after-care as the potential is there to cause issues using products not viable. Also for facial treatments an inexpensive silky satin pillow case would be the most generous touch and so appreciated. Bulk purchase should not cost much and the reaction you would get would be a huge boost. Crusty faces dragging on cotton pillowcases UGH.
