Subnovii Plasma Pen Pre & Post-Care Instructions
BEFORE YOUR SUBNOVII APPOINTMENT:
- Stop all products containing Retinol, glycolic acid, Alpha or Beta hydroxy acids for one week prior to treatment.
- Two weeks prior to treatment in order to minimize the risk of bruising or bleeding avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDs (such as ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve), Vitamin E, Omega 3, turmeric supplements, and Ginkgo biloba supplements. Tylenol is fine. You can resume these medications and supplements 24 hours after your treatment.
- Notify us of any allergy to Lidocaine or any other numbing agents, as these will be applied prior to the treatment.
- Avoid sun exposure for a minimum of 4 weeks and self-tanner for at least 1 week prior to the procedure.
- Patients should be off Accutane for a minimum of 6 months prior to treatment.
- Please arrive at your appointment with clean skin.
- If prescribed, start anti-viral medication 1 day before treatment and as directed.
- Men should have a cleanly shaven face the night before or the morning of the procedure - without visible stubble.
AFTER YOUR SUBNOVII APPOINTMENT:
- A sunburn sensation may linger for 12-24 hours after the procedure is completed.
- Optimal results are only achieved by maintaining an undisturbed and DRY environment.
- DO NOT ice area as this inhibits collagen stimulation.
- Please avoid Aspirin, Ibuprofen, or Aleve as these can cause more swelling.
- Immediately after the treatment, the Subnovii Recovery Cream and the Recovery Powder will be applied. These products must be used for several days to ensure optimal healing and results.
- Each morning and evening, while the scabs are present, you may cleanse the area by GENTLY splashing lukewarm water over the area. DO NOT RUB. Use a hairdryer (on the cool setting) until the crusts are dry then, apply a VERY THIN layer of the Subnovii Recovery Cream. Pat the cream on with clean fingers and do NOT rub in or use a sponge. Next, apply the Subnovii Recovery Powder on top of the cream to absorb any excess moisture and keep the scabs dry.
- DO NOT intentionally pick or remove the scabs. Every manipulation of the scabs can cause an adverse effect. They will fall off on their own within 7 to 10 days.
- When the scabs have fallen off, use sunscreen with SPF 50 on the treated areas. Avoid extreme sun exposure for 3 months and UV rays and extreme low temperatures for 2 weeks. Not following instructions can lead to pigment deviations and dark spots.
- As long as the scabs are present avoid the sun, sweating, sauna, and steam rooms.
- The skin beneath the scabs may be sensitive and may remain pink for up to 6 months.
- Please note: depending on the desired results, more than one treatment may be necessary. Follow-up treatments may only be performed 12 - 16 weeks after the previous treatment as the collagen fibers are still contracting and the skin is very sensitive.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to protect your investment and to continue to improve your skin. At a minimum, the following medical-grade products are recommended to start using 7-10 days post-treatment: an antioxidant with growth factor: we love SkinMedica TNS A+ or Neocutis Bio Serum, no less than 30 SPF+ sunscreens, and .5 or greater retinol in your daily skin care routine. You can take advantage of a 10% discount on all products on the day of treatment.
